|Patrick has over 20 years’ experience in Real Estate ranging from brokerage, commercial title & escrow sale, apartment management, land lording and apartment development. He is a licensed real estate broker and owner of an Assisted Living Facility, an Adult Family Home and other rental properties. Financing can be the most difficult part of the AFH transaction. Patrick has an in-depth knowledge of the SBA loan program which is the preferred method to purchase an AFH. |Alternative Options LLC as its roots going back to when Lana Tarbutton ran Better Options for Elderly Care. When she retired she passed the business to us to run. We named it Alternative Options, LLC. Between Better Options and now Alternative Options, we have been serving AFH ion the SWW area for over 35 years.
I also have operated an AFH for over 32 years, helped to form the CCAFHA, served as its President & Delegate for about 10 years, served on the WSRCC for about 10 years, managed four different Assisted Living Communities in the PDX/Vancouver area for 9 years.
We feel that we offer a superior service for many reasons. We utilize the extensive experience we have in the LTC field for the benefit of the resident & their family. We run an AFH & have first-hand experience in providing actual care for residents. I designed the assessment used by Qualified Assessors statewide today. We meet the resident personally and evaluate the care needs of potential residents. We then make all of the necessary behind the scene calls, get an Assessment started with In It Together RN, request Physicians Orders, verify that the places we show have no citations with DSHS and then physically take the resident & or family to see the communities that meet the needs of the resident. Once they decide what AFH they want, we assist the family even further by offering to transport the furnishings to the new AFH as an additional service for the family. Then for Medicaid Residents, placement services cannot LEGALLY place them for a fee, so most will shy away. We offer a FREE “How To” worksheet for the family, since they are overwhelmed just like the private pay families.
Most placement services charge 100-200% of the first month’s rent. We charge 70%. Others say after just 30 days that is a good placement. We suggest 60 days is fairer to the AFH. If the AFH would like to break the Service Fee into smaller payments, we can easily accommodate that. Finally, if the placement fails to exceed 60 days we REDUCE the Placement Fee to 40% and refund the difference.
We are members of the Adult Family Home Council of Washington & the local Clark County Chapter as an AFH. We are HONORED to now be the first Placement Service to be recognized as an Affiliate Member of the Council.
Alternative Options is a Full-Service Placement Service. Many families have no idea what to do when the time comes. We hold their hand all the way. We are the Alpha & Omega the beginning and end of their search providing golden service to their loved ones.
|Carewatchers is a senior care facility and in-home care agency placement and referral agency service now serving the United States and Canada. Our placement and referral service is exclusive to nine care options. These include assisted living facilities, residential care homes, home care agencies, independent living communities, adult day care health centers, hospice care facilities, memory care facilities, and skilled nursing facilities. Carewatchers does not receive a referral fee from any of our senior care options. Our service is free to family members looking to place their loved one in a long-term care facility.
