|My AFH was created. Our team of professionals work directly with the AFH provider to ensure that your loved one receives a standard of excellence in care, comparable to that of a corporate-run institution.
Family owned and operated since 1995 as experienced senior care professionals in the greater Seattle metropolitan area, My AFH is a name that you can trust. Our value added-service allows us to remove the weight of the business from the provider at no additional expense to you. By doing so, the providers that we consult are able to solely devote their time and efforts into providing personalized care for your family member.

|Families are asked to make monumental decisions about their loved one’s placement in residential care, usually without the luxury of time. At Golden Sherpa, we created a platform for families to find senior living options, information to help care for loved ones, and learn about supportive solutions in the senior living space.
Golden Sherpa is a platform marketplace, not a referral or discharge agency. At Golden Sherpa seniors-living providers, their partners, suppliers, customers, and anyone interested in making a positive contribution to the senior living experience can connect.
Experts in the fields of information technology and market research who struggled to find senior living information for their aging parents founded Golden Sherpa. After meeting, listening, and learning from communities, senior living service providers, and adult children, they developed the Golden Sherpa platform for the senior living community, and its customers to connect and interact directly.
Reduce your referral costs by marketing directly to adult children and professionals searching for available placement in residential care.

|Alternative Options LLC as its roots going back to when Lana Tarbutton ran Better Options for Elderly Care. When she retired she passed the business to us to run. We named it Alternative Options, LLC. Between Better Options and now Alternative Options, we have been serving AFH ion the SWW area for over 35 years.
I also have operated an AFH for over 32 years, helped to form the CCAFHA, served as its President & Delegate for about 10 years, served on the WSRCC for about 10 years, managed four different Assisted Living Communities in the PDX/Vancouver area for 9 years.
We feel that we offer a superior service for many reasons. We utilize the extensive experience we have in the LTC field for the benefit of the resident & their family. We run an AFH & have first-hand experience in providing actual care for residents. I designed the assessment used by Qualified Assessors statewide today. We meet the resident personally and evaluate the care needs of potential residents. We then make all of the necessary behind the scene calls, get an Assessment started with In It Together RN, request Physicians Orders, verify that the places we show have no citations with DSHS and then physically take the resident & or family to see the communities that meet the needs of the resident. Once they decide what AFH they want, we assist the family even further by offering to transport the furnishings to the new AFH as an additional service for the family. Then for Medicaid Residents, placement services cannot LEGALLY place them for a fee, so most will shy away. We offer a FREE “How To” worksheet for the family, since they are overwhelmed just like the private pay families.
Most placement services charge 100-200% of the first month’s rent. We charge 70%. Others say after just 30 days that is a good placement. We suggest 60 days is fairer to the AFH. If the AFH would like to break the Service Fee into smaller payments, we can easily accommodate that. Finally, if the placement fails to exceed 60 days we REDUCE the Placement Fee to 40% and refund the difference.
We are members of the Adult Family Home Council of Washington & the local Clark County Chapter as an AFH. We are HONORED to now be the first Placement Service to be recognized as an Affiliate Member of the Council.
Alternative Options is a Full-Service Placement Service. Many families have no idea what to do when the time comes. We hold their hand all the way. We are the Alpha & Omega the beginning and end of their search providing golden service to their loved ones.

|Nurse Care Management
Nurses play a critically role in promoting patient safety and optimal well-being by monitoring patient health and providing education to their caregivers.
Washington State's Adult Family Homes (AFH) are regulated by the implementation of the state's AFH laws and rules. Compliance may be factors such as mandatory reporting , abuse and neglect prevention, following care plans, and documentation.
Chart organization, essential forms, and policies will be a Key component in operating a well established Adult Family Home.
Emergency and Medical response and planning
The essential part of Caring for the Resident is alerting emergency personnel during an emergency. Caregivers must be educated how to initially care for the resident, activate emergency response, and notifying family and Care providers.
Marketing and Tours
Coaching on what makes a home marketable, creating leads and preparing your homes for tours for prospective residents.
Essential policies and procedures are written to ensure guidelines are provided in the adult family home.
