Virtual Legislative Lobby 2021
Hello AFH Council Members and Business Affiliate Partners!
Our Virtual Legislative Lobby Day is scheduled for Wednesday, March 3, 2021 from 11:00a to 1:00pm. We will have a presentation by our executive director John Ficker on AFH Council’s legislative agenda, our collective bargaining agreement and a presentation from the Long Term Care Foundation & AFH Training Network. We are pleased to announce that Governor Inslee will be joining us for a short 15 minutes at 12:00p. We will have an opportunity to ask a few questions, if you have a something you would like to ask him, please follow this link to submit your question.
We want you to take the time to review our agenda, ask questions and prepare for our call to action when needed. We will not have individual meetings scheduled with your legislators on this day, though we will make sure that you all have an opportunity to connect with them and ask for their support.

Covid-19 mRNA Vaccines, Viral Variants & FAQs
Please join Nisha Patel PharmD, Clinical Pharmacist with Ready Meds Pharmacy to learn about COVID-19 mRNA vaccines and emerging viral variants. Common hesitancies or concerns related to the vaccines will be addressed, and frequently asked questions will be answered. Ready Meds Pharmacy’s in-home COVID-19 vaccine program will also be discussed.
Learning objectives:
- Describe clinical testing of COVID-19 mRNA vaccines for safety, effectiveness and side effects
- Identify a monitoring system that CDC has put in place to evaluate vaccine safety in real time
- Explain why it is not possible for a COVID-19 vaccine to cause COVID-19 infection
- Describe why it’s important to continue masking and social distancing after you’ve received both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine
- Discuss COVID-19 vaccine recommendations for pregnant or breastfeeding individuals
- Identify the 3 countries in which the COVID-19 variants discussed first emerged
- Explain why mRNA vaccine technology can adapt to new strains more easily than conventional vaccines
