AFH Worker Safety Awareness Program

The Adult Family Home Council (AFHC) in collaboration with the Department of Labor and Industries has developed the Adult Family Home Worker Safety Awareness Program. AFHC believes that introducing a first-of-its-kind, industry specific, Safety Awareness Training Program will significantly reduce worker injuries in adult family homes.

ETR Support

An ETR should be requested if a resident’s personal care needs are truly exceptional or their behaviors require special interventions, especially if alternative options have been tried but are insufficient. The request should align with the facility’s Disclosure of Services and be based on an accurate assessment of the resident’s care needs.

Infection Prevention in AFH’s

In response to the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus, Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the Department of Health and the Department of Social and Health Services are providing information about how to manage and contain the outbreak.

Application Support

Adult Family Home (AFH) applications, including new, relocation, or ownership changes, must be submitted online. A Secure Access Washington (SAW) account is required. Ensure all documents are uploaded before scheduling with the Education & Support team, as incomplete applications will be voided.
