Understanding APS: Roles, Responsibilities, and Reporting

Presented by Scott Hinton with Adult Protective Services

Description:

This presentation provides an overview of Adult Protective Services (APS), including its role in protecting vulnerable adults and responding to reports of maltreatment. Attendees will learn about vulnerable adult status, recognizing signs of abuse, neglect, exploitation, and abandonment, mandatory reporting requirements, confidentiality considerations, and the APS investigative process. This session will help providers better understand their responsibilities and how APS works to support the safety and well-being of vulnerable adults.
