Crisis Principles in Action© is a course designed to help staff that have been involved in a traumatic incident deal with their feelings, be mentally ready to work with a person who may have hurt them physically or emotionally and help a staff return to work in an effective manner AND how to teach these skills to those they support.
Learning Objectives:
• Students will be able to recognize the signs of distress in the person they are working with and how this affects the person’s behaviour.
• They will be able to use the techniques introduced in the class to manage their own internal state to help the individual they support manage their own internal state.
• By completing exercises that help identify the probable cause and resulting internal state of others, students will be able to help teach the individual how to express their feelings in more functional, effective ways.
