Benefits of Hospice Care in the Adult Family Home & Care of the Hospice Patient for CNAs

Learning objectives:

The explanation of hospice services including history, philosophy and myths/misconceptions that can be a barrier to the patient receiving care.  Also we will specifically talk about how our hospice team can be a valuable partner and asset to Adult Family Homes.

• Understand the basics of comfort care for the terminally ill
• Recognize common symptoms of pain and discomfort at end of life
• Identify specific comfort measures and communication strategies
• Understand hospice is a resource for the resident, family and you
• Provide you with a bit more confidence working with end of life

1.5 hours of CE available to all AFH Council members who attend.
