The Adult Family Home Council and Residential Care Services have collaborated to develop a training that will help Adult Family Home providers and DSHS regulators in developing a better understanding of when it is appropriate to report allegations of abuse, neglect, or exploitation to the Department’s Complaint Resolution Unit.
Presenters: Amy Abbott, LICSW, Director of RCS, Bett Schlemmer, MN, MPA, RN, Special Assistant to the Director, RCS & Karen Cordero, Director of Education & Support with the AFH Council
Objectives:
- Review the laws and regulations that cover mandated reporting outlined in RCW 74.34 and WAC 388-76.
- Understand the relevancy of the ‘Adult Family Home Guidebook’ for reporting, protecting residents and preventing abuse and neglect.
- Discuss and dispel urban myths and increase clarity when you do and don’t have to make a report and investigate.
1.5 hours of CE are available to all who attend the entire webinar.
