ALTSA Supported Employment team would like to welcome you to a new training we developed specifically with you and your residents in mind. This will be a one hour training eligible for 1 CEU of training credits. Your full attendance and participation is required in order to receive the certificate of attendance.

This training will demonstrate the benefits of employment for individuals with disabilities living at your facility who have a desire to work. Every ALTSA client has different needs and unique goals. You might be caring for a younger resident who has never worked before or an older resident who is interested in returning to the work force. Supported Employment offers a variety of benefits to residents and can help them reach their individual goals. This training will cover the myths and misconceptions around our clients who would like to work. We are going to dispel those myths and explain how our clients can work, enrich their lives from community engagement, improve their health, yet maintain services with us and not lose their important benefits.

 

The topics we will be covering are:

  • What is the Foundational Community Supports (FCS) Supported Employment Services program.
  • What kind of services and supports does someone get in this program.
  • Who is eligible for this Supported Employment service.
  • What are the benefits to you and our clients who work. 
  • Can residents work without losing their important benefits and services.
  • How can I refer someone into this program.
