Description
River Watch Care Home is a family-operated adult family home in beautiful Kalama, Washington, with a special focus on supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
We believe a great home should offer more than excellent care and a safe place to live. Residents should have opportunities to get out, have fun, build relationships, explore their interests, participate in their community, and continue creating a life that feels full and meaningful.
We also understand that for many families, considering a move outside the family home can be an incredibly big step. You know your loved one—their personality, routines, preferences, quirks, comforts, and what makes them happy—better than anyone. Our goal is to build a relationship with both residents and their families so we can understand those things, too.
River Watch is intentionally small, with accommodations for up to six residents. As a family-operated home, we want residents to experience the warmth and everyday connection of family life while receiving personalized support and maintaining as much independence as possible.
Life at River Watch may include:
Community outings, activities, and experiences based on residents' interests
Opportunities for social connection, friendship, and involvement in everyday family life
Support with daily routines and personal care
Medication reminders and management support
Meal preparation and snacks
Housekeeping and laundry
Mobility assistance
Individualized support based on each resident's needs and goals
Our home offers:
A beautiful residential setting with panoramic river and territorial views
Small resident capacity for more personalized attention
A warm, family-home environment rather than an institutional setting
Shared accommodations, including opportunities for friends, couples, or compatible residents who would enjoy living together
Medicaid and private pay accepted
Relationship-centered care focused on helping residents feel known, valued, included, and truly at home
Choosing a home for someone you love is deeply personal. We don't take the trust families place in us lightly. Our goal is to create a home where residents aren't simply cared for—they're supported in continuing to live, grow, connect, and enjoy their lives.
