Flooding Alert – Resources and Guidance for Providers in King County

Dear Providers,

Flooding continues to impact several communities across Washington, with particular concern in South King County, including the Tukwila and Kent areas, due to a reported levee breach along the Green River. Reports indicate that multiple long-term care facilities, including Adult Family Homes, may be located within or near the affected area.

We encourage all providers—especially those in or near impacted areas—to review and follow their emergency preparedness plans. Emergency evacuations or temporary relocations may become necessary, and coordination with receiving facilities may be required to ensure resident health and safety. In some cases, facilities may also need to send staff to assist receiving locations to support continuity of care.

Providers should continue monitoring local conditions, follow guidance from local emergency management officials, and carefully assess safety before returning residents to their homes once conditions improve.
