Help Us Lower Insurance Rates!
To the Adult Family Homes of Washington,
I need your help.
The Washington State Legislature asked the Office of the Insurance Commissioner to convene a workgroup to look at the difficulties Adult Family Home operators are facing finding affordable liability insurance. More information about the intent of the workgroup can be found here: Adult family home liability market study work group | Washington state Office of the Insurance Commissioner.
To demonstrate the challenges, the AFH Council and the actuaries studying this issue are looking for AFH operators willing to share their year-end income and expenses information with the Council. The data should be from multiple years. It would be submitted to the AFH Council and reviewed by our staff with the member home. All data forwarded to the Office of the Insurance Commissioner (OIC) will remain anonymous.
The data will be compiled into a final report with no specific AFH information other than region and percentage of Medicaid/private funding. All homes are welcome to participate in this survey. We would like to identify a mix of homes serving Medicaid, private pay, elder care, DD/ID, and behavioral health from multiple regions of the state. This is particularly important if your home has seen increased costs or restrictions on your liability insurance product.
If your home is willing to participate in this study, please complete the form below and a member of our team will follow up with you.
