The AFH Council is Working to Protect Your Rights

Your Membership is Crucial!

We urgently need your support! The state is making significant changes to the Residential Support Waiver (RSW) and the new Managed Care Organization (MCO) funding through Community Behavioral Health Support (CBHS). We have received numerous concerned calls about these changes.
The Council believes the state’s actions are unfair and potentially illegal. We are taking action.  The current contract was negotiated based on incomplete and inaccurate information provided by the state, who has continuously shifted its policy for CBHS services. In response, we have filed an “Unfair Labor Practice” complaint, alleging that the state has failed to meet its duty to bargain and is bargaining in bad faith. Winning this legal battle will give us the opportunity to renegotiate the terms of the CBHS contracts.

Your membership is essential to supporting this legal fight. As a member, your dues are invested in funding legal actions to protect your rights and improving conditions for all AFHs. We also need to hear from you. If you’ve experienced challenges related to the changes in RSW, MCO, or CBHS services, please share your story with us.

Together, we can improve our working conditions. Join us in this critical fight!

Membership fees enable the Council to cover legal expenses and fund staff to advocate with the state and regulatory agencies. The participation of every adult family home is vital to ensuring fair regulations and rates that accurately reflect the costs of caring for our vulnerable adults. Consider becoming a member of the Council to help us continue improving conditions for all adult family homes in Washington State.
