TAKE ACTION:

Stop Licensing Fee Increases!

April 11, 2025 Update

Thank you to all who participated! Our letter was sent to the Ways and Means and Appropriations committees on the morning of April 11. Check out the letter with nearly 650 signatures protesting licensing fee increases.

Proposed Fee Increases

While we’ve been actively advocating against increases to licensing fees throughout this legislative session, on Lobby Day, and in our communications with legislators, it’s now time to show the collective impact these fee increases will have on adult family homes.

Proposed Fee Increases

Both the House and Senate budgets propose significant increases to our licensing fees! Currently, the annual renewal fee for AFHs is $225 per bed. The House budget plans to raise this fee to $502 per bed in fiscal year 2026 and $454 per bed in fiscal year 2027. Additionally, AFHs would face a non-refundable processing fee of $2,750 for initial licensing, as well as a $700 fee for providers applying for a change of ownership.

In the Senate budget, the proposed annual license fee is $450 per bed, with the same non-refundable processing fee of $2,750 for initial licensing and an additional $700 fee for a change of ownership.
