Tai Ji Quan Moving for Better Balance Scholarships

In an effort to spread the evidence based Fall Prevention Program Tai Ji Quan Moving for Better Balance (TJQMBB) in Washington State, DOH has funds to provide scholarships for TJQMBB Instructor training. This opportunity is open while funding is still available. No Tai Chi experience necessary.

 

TJQMBB Instructor Training Online scholarship application

  • No tai chi experience required. 
  • After scholarship approved, discount code allows registration for any TJQMBB Instructor Training course.

Every TJQMBB Instructor scholarship includes 3 training experiences:

  • Full or Partial funding for 2 day TJQMBB Instructor Training
    • Full scholarships cover complete training cost
    • Partial Scholarships cover $250 of training cost, participant pays $150
  • Free Small group Refresher – 4 hour skills refresher scheduled 1-2 months after Instructor Training
  • Free Trainer Review Session – One on One teaching observation and feedback

Evidence Based Fall Prevention Program

  • TJQMBB is recognized by the CDC, AOA, ACL and NCOA as a highest tier evidence based fall prevention program.  58% fewer falls with older adults and 75% fewer injurious falls as well as improved strength, balance, decreased fear of falling, improved function with ADLs, improved global cognitive function. Research studies can be found on the publication page tjqmbb.org.
  • TJQMBB is also recognized by the Osteoarthritis Action Alliance (OAAA) as an evidence-based program that is proven to improve the quality of life for adults with arthritis.
