Learn More About DSHS's New Structure
From the Department of Social and Health Services:
Hello,
As of May 1, 2025, we have restructured our organization. Our goal is to streamline and improve our clients’ experiences with the Department of Social and Health Services.
Key changes include the creation of two new administrations at DSHS:
- The Behavioral Health and Habilitation Administration, led by Assistant Secretary Kevin Bovenkamp.
- The Home and Community Living Administration, led by Assistant Secretary Bea Rector.
These new administrations will integrate the former Behavioral Health, Developmental Disabilities and Aging and Long-Term Support Administrations. This change helps us use the strengths of each former administration, making our work more efficient and better for the people we serve.
While our structure and names have changed, your contacts and services remain the same. Visit our information page to learn more about these changes.
We will share updates as the transition continues. We want to include opportunities for feedback from clients and community partners.
Thank you for your continued trust and support as we work toward a brighter future together.
Warm regards,
Cheryl Strange, Acting Secretary
Department of Social and Health Services
