Director of Education & Support
The Adult Family Home Council is a member organization driven by a mission to improve the lives and well-being of vulnerable adults through the support of adult family homes. Serving over 5,000 AFHs across Washington and nearly 20,000 residents, we assist providers in delivering high-quality, individualized care with targeted advocacy, educational resources, personalized support, and marketing opportunities. We are currently seeking a motivated and positive individual to join our team as the Director of Education & Support.
Position Description
The Director of Education & Support plays a pivotal role within the organization, overseeing all educational and training initiatives and serving as the backup point of contact for member inquiries. This position directs and manages the Education & Support Specialists, ensuring the delivery of prompt and accurate assistance to AFHC members.
Required Qualifications and Job Skills
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in-person, over the phone, and via email, demonstrating patience and kindness.
- Strong public speaking skills.
- Ability to develop and enhance curricula and apply adult education principles effectively.
- Advocacy for adult family home providers and the mission of the Adult Family Home Council.
- Detail-oriented with excellent proofreading and editing skills.
Education
- Preferred Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Able to work with Microsoft Office and online training and meeting tools
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Consultation
- Provide guidance, direction, and professional consultation to AFH Providers and relevant state agencies.
- Collaborate with AFH providers to establish and coordinate best practices, policies, and educational initiatives.
Quality Assurance
- Oversee the development and tracking of quality and performance outcome measures.
- Review findings and recommendations from the Education & Support Coordinator for strategic planning.
Support with Compliance Issues
- Monitor and coordinate compliance activities with AFH providers, caregivers, and staff.
- Provide oversight for IDR’s and Administrative hearings.
Advocacy and Legislative Support
- Collaborate with the Advocacy Coordinator to address AFH provider concerns during legislative sessions.
Document Management
- Ensure the management, design, implementation, and quality control/assurance of the Document Library.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for AFH compliance.
Training and Education
- Oversee the response to member queries and the development of educational materials.
- Coordinate state-wide educational initiatives and training material development.
- Provide leadership and guidance for staff training and development.
Member Satisfaction
- Ensure AFHC members are satisfied with their membership and handle complaints or concerns effectively.
Compensation
Compensation for this full-time position will range from $9166 to $10833 monthly depending on experience and qualifications. Competitive benefits package includes medical, dental, life and paid vacation. 401K with employer match after one year.
Schedule
This position is full-time, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm in Tumwater, Washington.
