Job Announcement: Education & Support Specialist

The Adult Family Home Council’s mission is to improve the lives and well-being of vulnerable adults through the support of Adult Family Homes. There are more than 5,000 AFHs across Washington serving nearly 20,000 residents. To support our rapidly growing sector, the Council is seeking an additional motivated and positive individual to join our Education & Support team.

Position Description

This position will work as part of the Education & Support Team to respond to individual member requests for assistance with issues ranging from care planning, regulatory guidance, business planning and more. The ideal candidate will excel in delivering prompt and accurate support via phone and email. In addition to providing excellent customer service, this position will contribute to the organization and expansion of the document library and creation of content for our learning management system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to member queries with expertise and empathy
  • Evaluate and expand our document library
  • Develop educational materials based on member needs
  • Coordinate state-wide educational initiatives, including training material development and delivery
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure members receive essential support for delivery of quality care and services

Preferred Qualifications

  • Care planning and/or caregiving
  • Experience with adult family homes or other long-term care settings
  • Training development/delivery
  • Familiarity with Washington Administrative Code (WAC) and government regulatory environment
  • Experience with public speaking

Required Qualifications

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated with a positive and professional approach
  • Able to work with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Exceptional customer service skills

Education/Training

  • Preferred Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Able to work with Microsoft Office and online training and meeting tools

Will Also Require

  • Background check
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Proof of vaccination against COVID-19

Compensation and Schedule

Compensation for this full-time position will range from $5,250 to $7,625 monthly depending on experience and qualifications. Competitive benefits package includes medical, dental, paid vacation and 401K

Schedule: This position is full-time, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm in Tumwater, Washington. Some travel required.
