Update on Medicaid Referrals

In 2023 DSHS launched a “request for proposal” (RFP) to identify a technology vendor to assist case managers in communicating with adult family homes when seeking placement for a potential resident. Currently, that contract is held by AIDA. The RFP was launched, and an apparently successful bidder was identified. Many providers were aware that GoldenSherpa had been selected by DSHS. In developing the final contract terms and expectations, GoldenSherpa withdrew their interest in the contract. We have been informed that AIDA’s contract is now extended until July 2024 while a new RFP is developed, solicited, and launched.

We recognize that many members are concerned about what they believe are fewer referrals coming from the state and through AIDA. If you share these concerns, we recommend logging into AIDA and:

  1. Set your bed availability to match your current capacity.
  2. Select that your home takes Medicaid on arrival.
  3. Complete every field in your home’s profile to distinguish the services and amenities you provide, as well as the contracts you’ve received.
  4. Ensure the contact information to receive referral notices is accurate.

We at the Council are engaged with DSHS and AIDA to ensure that a fair and meaningful process is developed to connect you to your next resident. We will do all we can to keep you up to date as this work continues.
