The Adult Family Home Council (AFHC) extends our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the individual who tragically passed in the recent house fire at an AFH in Midland. Our thoughts are also with the dedicated operator, caregivers, and residents displaced by this event. AFHC Board members and I continue to coordinate with DSHS, Pierce County, nearby providers, and our local chapter to offer support.
We are grateful to the heroic caregivers, compassionate neighbors, Lakewood Chapter members, and the brave first responders from Central Pierce, West Pierce, Riverside Fire & Rescue, and the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office for their swift and selfless response, which saved lives.
A heartfelt thank-you to Alyssa Arley of A2Z Elite Services for creating the GoFundMe in response to the recent AFH fire tragedy. Your quick action and compassion helped raise critical support for a fellow provider in need. As one of our valued affiliate business partners, Alyssa has consistently gone above and beyond offering consulting, training, and guidance to AFH owners across Washington. Thank you, Alyssa, for exemplifying leadership, heart, and true partnership.
