2023 AFH Council Spring Conferences began Wednesday, May 3, 2023 in Tukwila, at the Tukwila Community Center. Since then we’ve held two additional spring conferences, one at University Place and another at Ellensburg. We want to thank every provider in the area that came out and participated. There were great turnouts from each location. We appreciate the meaningful discussions and feedback we received in the room and we’re excited to implement them and/or advocate for them in the near future. It’s conversations like these that allow us to understand how we can better support and advocate for you.
We also want to thank our primary sponsor, Cornerstone Healthcare Training, and our gold sponsor, Ready Meds Pharmacy, for sponsoring our 2023 AFH Council Spring Conference.
For those of you who couldn’t make it to any one of the three conferences, we have four more conferences left and you can click below to register. The next upcoming conferences will be held in Spokane, Vancouver, Snohomish, and Sedro Woolley.
For a quick overview of the day, in the morning our Education & Support team engages attendees through various scenarios that could result in common citations; and provides an overview of current infection prevention requirements, updates to licensing visits, and reviews ongoing requirements in AFHs. After lunch, our Executive Director, John Ficker, goes over everything that happened this legislative session including potential grants that will be available to providers and adult family home health care coverage. Lastly, in the afternoon, our Advocacy team provides an overview of the collective bargaining process, discusses the various ways the AFH Council advocates for AFH providers and gathers feedback on potential issues the Council can advocate for on your behalf. Check out our upcoming conferences below and photos from conferences we just finished!
