What's Changing?

PIM Savvy is excited to announce a partnership with the Adult Family Home (AFH) Council of Washington State and Long-Term Care Foundation of Washington State to evaluate and revise the Adult Family Home Worker Safety Awareness Program E-Course. We will also be partnering to create educational materials for Infection Control and the Respiratory Protection Plan for adult family homes. The objective is to break large pieces of learning into smaller, more manageable and engaging pieces — including videos. This will help both new and well-established adult family homes find what they need and learn at their convenience.

In addition to redesigning the Adult Family Home Worker Safety Awareness Program E-Course and Respiratory Protection Plan, we plan to create a series of webinars, deliver in-person presentations, and develop educational materials and videos about Infection Control and Management. Our webinars and presentations will provide continuing education credits. Additionally, summary PDFs will be translated into multiple languages including Amharic, Romanian, Russian, Swahili, Tagalog, and all materials, including the e-Course, will be translated into Spanish.

How Can I Get Involved?

This work will be funded through the Safety & Health Investment Project (SHIP) grant, a program under the Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) within L&I. As an Adult Family Home in Washington State, we need your assistance to make this SHIP grant a success. In the upcoming weeks, we will contact you with a survey to complete. This survey will help us understand the challenges related to training needs for adult family homes and guide us to develop relevant and applicable training materials. Over the next few months, you may be contacted for an interview or to inquire about participation in a focus group. If you are someone that likes to share ideas verbally, contact us to be interviewed.

Text the word “feedback” to (206) 565–2961 or email info@pimsavvy.com and we will arrange a one-on-one discussion. If we receive several requests, we will plan a focus group.

Stay in Touch!

PIM Savvy, Adult Family Home Council of Washington State and Long-Term Care Foundation of Washington State will send out periodic updates about this two-year project so you can stay up to date on the development and progress of the training courses and materials.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions, comments, or concerns related to this project. We look forward to collaborating with you soon.
