This training provides practical guidance on effective communication and behavior support strategies for residents living with dementia. Participants will gain an understanding of how cognitive changes associated with dementia impact communication and behavior, and will learn person-centered approaches to reduce distress and responsive behaviors. The session includes instruction on identifying common triggers, implementing proactive non-pharmacological interventions, and applying environmental and activity-based modifications that promote engagement, dignity, and quality of life.
