HCA Updates: Community Behavioral Health Support (CBHS) for Adult Family Home Providers

Following the August 6 Quarterly Meeting, the Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA) shared key updates for Adult Family Home (AFH) providers regarding the Community Behavioral Health Support (CBHS) program.

CBHS Waivers
The CBHS program is authorized through a State Plan Amendment, which is renewed every five years. The next renewal is scheduled for April 2029. For a complete overview and resources, visit HCA’s CBHS Program Information.

Provider Registration and Guidance
AFH providers can access video instructions on registering with ProviderOne for CBHS here. A detailed support guide is also available for download: CBHS Program Guide PDF.

HCA also provides a Supportive Services Tracking Form to assist providers in documenting supportive supervision activities.

Weekly Provider Support
HCA offers regular opportunities for AFH providers to ask questions and receive guidance:

  • Rapid Response: Mondays, 8:00–8:30 AM

  • Office Hours: Tuesdays, 2:30–3:30 PM
