Adult family home providers affected by the Spokane wildfires should prioritize resident safety, follow local evacuation instructions, and report any evacuation to Residential Care Services.

Take These Steps First

• If anyone is in immediate danger, call 911.
• Follow evacuation orders issued by local emergency officials.
• If your adult family home evacuates, report the evacuation to Residential Care Services as soon as possible.
• If your home is damaged, loses essential services, or cannot safely care for residents, contact your RCS licensor or field manager for direction.
• Do not return residents to an evacuated area until local officials have confirmed it is safe.

Report an AFH Evacuation

DSHS Residential Care Services has issued Dear Provider Letter 026-031: Emergency Evacuation Reporting.

If your adult family home evacuates:

• Submit a report through the RCS Online Incident Reporting page, or
• Call Residential Care Services at 1-800-562-6078.

If your home did not evacuate but was damaged, lost power or other essential services, or experienced conditions that could affect resident health and safety, contact your RCS licensor or field manager promptly.

Contacting AFHC does not replace required reporting to RCS or communication with emergency officials.

In-Person Assistance in Spokane

DSHS Mobile Office staff will be available at the Spokane Disaster Assistance Center to connect people affected by the fires with services and recovery resources.

Additional DSHS Assistance
