Upcoming Candidate Forums – Your Participation Matters!
Have lunch with your 2024 election candidates during the Adult Family Home Council’s candidate forums! We will host a series of these forums through our regional chapter meetings from September 6 through October 25. These meetings will offer opportunities to voice your concerns, build rapport and learn more about the candidates’ plans if they are to be elected.
Candidate Forums Create Opportunities For:
1. Informed Voting:
Understand where candidates stand on issues critical to our work so you can make an informed decisions when you are voting during the general election on November 5, 2024. Your vote can influence who gets elected and the future direction of policies affecting adult family homes.
2. Direct Communication with Candidates:
Directly ask candidates about their plans to address the challenges adult family home providers face. Whether it’s funding, regulations, or support services, your questions can help shape the candidates’ platforms.
3. Advocating for the AFH Community:
Advocate for policies that support the well-being of your residents and the sustainability of your adult family homes. Your presence sends a strong message that the adult family home community is engaged and needs to be considered in policy-making.
Your participation is crucial in helping ensure that the needs and interests of adult family homes are heard and considered by legislators who seek to represent your district. Below we’ve included dates and times of when these candidate forums will be held.

Membership fees enable the Council to cover legal expenses and fund staff to advocate with the state and regulatory agencies. The participation of every adult family home is vital to ensuring fair regulations and rates that accurately reflect the costs of caring for our vulnerable adults. Consider becoming a member of the Council to help us continue improving conditions for all adult family homes in Washington State.
