| This training series provides up-to-date information on policies and procedures related to services residents may receive through Washington State’s Home and Community Living Administration. Presented by subject matter experts from Developmental Disabilities Community Services (DDCS) and Home and Community Services (HCS), each session focuses on key areas that impact adult family home operations, including eligibility, rates and payments, nursing services, and other essential program requirements. Participants will gain practical insight into how these policies affect care, documentation, and service coordination for residents receiving state-supported services. |

| As Part Two of a two-part training, this course builds on the concepts from Part One and focuses on applying trauma-informed, person-centered strategies in real-world care and service settings. Participants will strengthen skills for culturally responsive communication, including approaches that support safety, choice, collaboration, and empowerment. The training examines common barriers to care (e.g., language access, stigma, fear, legal/immigration concerns, and system complexity) and offers practical strategies to reduce these barriers and improve engagement.
