To our Spokane-area adult family home providers, caregivers, residents and families:
We are heartbroken by the devastating wildfires affecting Spokane and surrounding communities.
Over the weekend, the fast-moving Old Trails, Fairview and Autumn Lane fires swept through neighborhoods across the region. Local officials reported that the Old Trails fire alone had destroyed 640 structures as of Sunday, August 2, with damage assessments continuing.
Behind every number is a person, a family and a community facing tremendous loss. We know adult family home providers may be protecting and caring for residents while also checking on staff, loved ones and their own homes.
Your immediate safety comes first. Follow instructions from local emergency officials and call 911 if anyone is in immediate danger.
