The 2016 Legislative Session ended on Tuesday, March 29, 2016. The AFH Council is happy to announce our success in getting a “Change of Ownership” fee reduced from $2750 to $700.00. The reduced fee will be effective July 1, 2016. This reduction reflects an important victory for fairness in adult family home licensing and fees. No longer can DSHS overcharge for simple administrative changes to AFH licenses. This is the result of legislation sponsored by the Adult Family Home Council in 2015 and the continuing lobbying efforts to insist upon fair and reasonable fee structures.
A Change of Ownership is defined in WAC 388-76-10105 (4). The definition includes anytime a licensed AFH is transferred between owners, if the business structure changes, or if an existing corporation changes structure/partners.
