Adult family home providers who provide respite services for clients of the Developmental Disabilities Administration received a raise on July 1st 2016. Respite services (as defined in WAC 388-845 and 388-825) are typically paid hourly to an adult family home provider. The hourly rate was$10.03 per hour. That rate has been increased to $14.76 per hour for up to 8 hours.
For homes who provider 9 or more hours of respite within a 24 hour period the rate would be $132.84, and if authorized for 11 hours or more the rate increases to $162.36. Previously the maximum that could be earned in 24 hour period for providing respite was $80.24.
This is a great step forward in ensuring fair pay for adult family homes across Washington.
